The 2010 Nissan Altima is available in a choice of three modes &#8211; Nisan Altima Sedan, Nissan Altima Coupe and Nissan Altima Hybrid, and a choice of two gas power plants – the 175 hp 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder and 270 hp 3.5-liter V6 engine, as well as the 198 hp hybrid powertrain that mates a specialized version of Nissan’s QR25 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and standard electronically controlled CVT with an advanced electric drive motor/generator.</p>

The first three new models are to arrive in 2009 and will supplement the current two imported models, the Nissan X-Trail SUV and the Nissan Teana sedan.</p>
<p>Colin Dodge told reporters: &#8220;There is a strategic importance for India as it has a great potential (with) forecast of over 3 million units in the next five years.&#8221; He added: &#8220;Globally, Nissan has five per cent market share and in India also we hope to have around the same level.&#8221;</p>
<p><span id="more-121"></span>The Nissan-Renault alliance also intends producing vehicles in India and have invested Rs 4,500 Crore in a car plant in Chennai, India, which will employ 3,000 workers by 2012 and will begin production in May 2010. The car plant will source local components to ensure its cars have 85 percent localized components.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://nissan.cars-blog.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/2010-nissan-altima.jpg" alt="Nissan Altima recall" title="Top selling Nissan Altima" width="248" height="186" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-100" />According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Nissan has issued a recall of 26,398 Nissan Altima and Nissan Maxima vehicles from the 2009-2010 model years.</p>
<p>The recall is to address an upper front strut insulator issue which could lead to a crack in the strut insulator. The front strut insulator might have been manufactured out of specification and, if cracked, could cause the strut rod to come out of its mounting position. This would compromise the vehicle’s stability and could cause a crash.<br />
Nissan dealers will replace both front strut insulators at no charge.</p>
<p>Nissan Altima and Nissan Maxima owners with vehicles from the 2009-2010 model years may contact Nissan at 800-647-7261 or the NHTSA hotline at 888-327-4236.</p>

Despite this pricing for the Nissan Versa sedan remain unchanged while pricing on the Nissan Versa 1.8 S hatchback increase by just $40 USD and the Nissan Versa 1.8 SL hatchback increases by just $200 USD.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://nissan.cars-blog.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/2010-nissan-altima.jpg" alt="Top selling Nissan Altima" title="Top selling Nissan Altima" width="248" height="186" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-100" />Nissan North America has reported a decline in combined Nissan and Infiniti year-on-year car sales in the United States in August 2009 with a decline in sales from 108,493 units in August last year to 105,312 units this year, a decline 2.9 percent. However, sales for the Nissan Division sales rose 0.2 percent while sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased by 30.2 percent.</p>
<h2>Nissan Division</h2>
<p><span id="more-99"></span>The Nissan Division sold 97,580 units in August compared to the 97,417 units sold in August last year, representing a 0.2 percent increase. The top selling Nissan in August was the Nissan Altima with 26,833 units sold, followed by the Nissan Versa with 18,580 units, the Nissan Sentra with 16,396 units, and the Nissan Rogue with 10,476 sales. The Nissan Versa also recorded an increase in sales of 131.8 percent, followed by the Nissan Sentra with an increase of 78.1 percent, and the Nissan Rogue with an increase of 57.8 percent.</p>
<h2>Infiniti</h2>
<p>Nissan North America&#8217;s Infiniti luxury division did not fare as well with sales down from 11,076 units in August 2008 to 7,732 units this year. However, Infiniti recorded a 9 percent month-on-month increase in August compared with July this year.</p>

The 2010 Nissan Rogue is available in two model variants &#8211; the Nissan Rogue S and Nissan Rogue SL &#8211; each available in front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). All models are powered by 170 hp 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, and featuring Nissan’s advanced Xtronic CVT™ (Continuously Variable Transmission) system, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and six air bags.</p>
