However, sales for the Nissan Division sales rose 0.2 percent while sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased by 30.2 percent.

Nissan Division

The Nissan Division sold 97,580 units in August compared to the 97,417 units sold in August last year, representing a 0.2 percent increase. The top selling Nissan in August was the Nissan Altima with 26,833 units sold, followed by the Nissan Versa with 18,580 units, the Nissan Sentra with 16,396 units, and the Nissan Rogue with 10,476 sales. The Nissan Versa also recorded an increase in sales of 131.8 percent, followed by the Nissan Sentra with an increase of 78.1 percent, and the Nissan Rogue with an increase of 57.8 percent.

Infiniti

Nissan North America’s Infiniti luxury division did not fare as well with sales down from 11,076 units in August 2008 to 7,732 units this year. However, Infiniti recorded a 9 percent month-on-month increase in August compared with July this year.

The 2010 Nissan Rogue is available in two model variants – the Nissan Rogue S and Nissan Rogue SL – each available in front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). All models are powered by 170 hp 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, and featuring Nissan’s advanced Xtronic CVT™ (Continuously Variable Transmission) system, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and six air bags.
